Poem7 Years AgoEveryone Free Write.
Poems Time. I tightly squeeze my leg to my chest and look up at the sky,
I burn the memory of you in my mind,
I erase the feeling in my heart that once have for you to
say goodbye,
I did it, so that I have no regret of leaving what left
behind.
I close my eyes with tears falling,
Everything was blank and empty just like my heart,
Though, somewhere along the way I could still hear you
calling,
I can no longer answer you because we are falling apart.

I just joined...I'm a bit confused7 Years AgoHi, I just joined this group. I am a (hopefully soon-to-be) teen author looking for help creating my first book. I heard writers groups are good for motivation and help writing a book. So I joined this group and after my satisfaction wore off, I was left thinking "What now?". I'm just confused on what to do here? I'm hoping that the answer is "You get motivation, publishing help, editing help, and more!". But I'm good with anything, so if someone could kindly help me out (with the book and what I do on writers cafe). Thank you!

Detailed objective reviews7 Years AgoTired of lack of comments? Overly sugar-coated reviews? One-track interpretations? Me too. But instead of complaining, let's be proactive. Comment on this thread; all I expect in return for a review is basic human decency. Please don't slip on a banana peel and forget to say thank-you. Rules: >Any topic except love, heartbreak, or p.orn (by p.orn I mean erotica that has se.x scenes that don't really matter to the story; erotica is fine if it has a purpose). >No rants and journal entries. Confessional is fine, but then make sure you know the difference between a documentary and a movie inspired by a true story. >No children's literature. Contrary to popular belief, writing children's lit is more challenging than whatever else. Besides experts, the best audience to test them on are children. >Maximum of two per writer. Please specify genre, title, and link on this thread. *** >For poetry: -Preference for free verse, prose, and experimental forms. -Avoid evenly-spaced rhymes (e.g. at the end of each line). I'd rather they're free flowing (like in spoken word) and scattered. -Poem without focus on rhymes is fine. -Preference for poems with more than one emotion. >For essays: -Preference for a topic that's new, has a fresh take, or has a stance people will disagree with. -Literary essays VERY welcome. >For fiction: -Short stories and the first chapter of a book are ok. -Limitation: If it has jargon or references, don't expect me to know every single one of them. Even if I do Google them, the truth is most people won't. Accept the fact that you may be writing for a very specific audience. *** >Disclaimer: This is not first-come first-serve. I'm human. Personally I'd get bored reading five short stories one after another, or five works from different genres that have the same topic, etc. Wait patiently. >Tips to get ahead in line: (a) Ask specific questions you want me to consider about your work. (b) Tell me what's the best strength of your work or why should I read it. (c) Uncommon title. |

How do I check stats of my own story(ies) without...7 Years AgoHow do I check stats of my own story(ies)... without affecting the stats when I do? (E.g, number of views.) A function that adds my own viewings into the view-count of my own stories makes no damn sense.
And in the "Top Content" box on my stats page, there are numbers next to the titles of my stories. What do they mean? I know thy're not view counts. It's absolutely mystifying. What do they mean? |
