Prompt: Use second person POV. 'You' are fighting a monster. It is gangly, humanoid, and strong. Dive into the scene immediately and finish the fight as quickly as you can.

The monster is more a monstrous human being, a brazen beast of a warrior; though as wild and unpredictable as a wild untamed stallion. Our fight must be, a battle of two bitter foes; to the last. It must be finished quickly, but why you might wonder (I certainly did)..? My foe paused, and lowered his shield momentarily; to say "Because the prompt master said so.! Until one of us breathes no more, and until one of us has spilt blood and cleaver the skull ☠️ of the other..! And, in order to break the ancient curse which we both know of..." "The prompt master explained it so, did he.? I didn't know that entity, was so imaginative or knowledgeable of our ancient tribal law"; I couldn't resist adding. And, as I did so; my formidable foe was kept distracted by our conversation. Thus, his head was poised in an awkward posture of thought. That's what gave me those vital and necessary moments, to bring forth my right arm from behind my back and aim; all in one swift movement..! And, then hurl the 🗡️ dagger concealed in my palm - directly at the throat of that baying human monster.. It swayed, moaned and a torrent of blood spouted from the open wound; which has been made by my rude dagger. And, it remained embedded to the hilt. A deathly silence followed, once that fell beast of a man; and finally toppled in a cloud of dust from the dry earth. And, all that I then heard for a minute or so; was the sound of rustling leaves...

It isn't easy to believe the impossible but it's easier when it's in front of you, ready to tear your face off. Grotesque, the creature in front of you resembles a human like a four legged-spider resembles a dog. There is a moment of disbelief: seeing such a thing in your home will do that. Only when it gouges a long scratch into your arm, does it become real. Blood is warm and red and real, just as pain is hot and compelling, filling you with enough adrenaline to ignore any thought outside of "Find a weapon. Kill it." The route to your room is ingrained into you, not the creature, and you practiced opening the gun safe a thousand times when you got it for this exact reason. Maybe it isn't the intruder you expected, but it's a threat and it will die today. The gun is cold but you don't notice because the safety is off and the monster is ready to grab it out of your hand- as if it could sense danger from the odd, black thing. A resounding BANG makes its home in the creatures cranium. Another BANG is in its chest cavity, BANG into its stomach, BANG into its skull again, BANG, BANG, and the clip is empty before you can blink and the monster is dead at your feet. For good measure, you load another clip and empty it again. Next, you grab the handsaw in the craft drawer from another room nearby. Living in the mountains makes this convenient. All of this can be buried quietly. Very, very quietly.
