The Black Sf Cabaret Forum Black fiction

I have had an idea in my head for quite some time.  Who is writing the great speculative fiction/action adventure novel for average middle-class black people?  I did not grow up in the inner city, nor did I grow up ultra-wealthy.  I would like to see an experience in fiction that resonates with me and my own experience.  Does anyone else feel the same or am I alone?
