Favourite Word15 Years AgoJust a little in-group activity.:P
Tell us your favourite word. You can list more than one if you want, as long as you give a proper definition of that word (please copy and paste a definition from another site just to avoid common mistakes, and reference the site used), and why you like that word in the first place. |

[no subject]15 Years AgoI have a lot of fave words, mainly because I just like words, but I will only say two of there right now. Maybe more later.
Now, I love Japan. Anything Japan. Language, Culture, Media, ect. So, one of my favorite words is a Japanese word. In romanji is is Murasaki, which means purple. And as I am obsessed with purple, this is a good word. My other word I first found in a book series called the Empire of Man, by John Ringo and David Weber. It is Tertiary. It means third. You know, like Primary, Secondary, Tertiary? So yeah, those are two of my all time faves. |

[no subject]15 Years AgoThat's so funny Pandora Yuy! My friend Pucachu, loves purple and anything purble, odd. LOL She is so cute. I love vex, because in the Brontees and Austen books they tend to use that word. It means to be irritated. I love livid, to be enraged is its meaning, and I my past friend who's passed away 2 years ago, use to say when he got upset. It is a dear word to me.

[no subject]15 Years AgoMy favourite words would have to be 'nebulous' and 'discord'. These are the exact definitions www.answers.com has given them:
NEBULOUS: adj.
[Middle English, from Latin nebulōsus, from nebula, cloud.] DISCORD: n.
[Middle English, from Old French descorde, from Latin discordia, from discors, discord-, disagreeing : dis-, apart; + cor, cord-, heart.] I guess I like 'nebulous' because of the sound and flow of the word, and especially because of its meaning. Something that is cloudy and vague could be related to the images in a crystal ball, and I am obsessed with Divination, so it makes perfect sense to love this word. :P I love 'discord' because of the way the word flows. 'Dis' has that high note in it, and then it all falls with 'cord'. I also like it because its related with chaos and strife, and Eris, the Goddess of Chaos, is one of my favourite Greek goddesses. |
