Re: New England Writing Hot Spots and Venues11 Years Ago-Julia de Burgos Poetry in the Park series every summer, every 3rd Thursday; Willimantic, CT. May-September. On Poet's Corner. 6:00 pm until dusk. Thriving multi-cultural community event, with talent from all over the region. The CT State Poet Laureate Marilyn Nelson has been a featured speaker, visiting scholars and poets, Latin authors and of course open mic from any member of the public. -also in Willimantic: Cafemantic on Main Street, a favorite haunt of local artists and poets. I have been known to offer poetry writing workshops on occasion. -University of Connecticut Co-op Bookstore: free to public, frequently features prominent writers and poets, especially regional. -Route 6 on Cape Cod is my favorite journey for literary exploration, with its plethora of small bookstores. -Speaking of great bookstores, the independent book store in Bar Harbor, Maine is fantastic
