New England Style

This is a regional interest group, for writers living in a New England state, and/or for writings about New England. For those who are geographically challenged, New England includes the states of Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont. For those who have never lived here, Long Islanders and Adirondack folk consider themselves New England, too.

Being a rather small geographic area, I am hoping to put together a day or weekend writers convention. I am also going to post contests related to the theme of life in New England, and have aspirations for setting a series of contests where the stories submitted get published as a book. More details on that when we get there.

What is my interest in New England? My grandmother's ancestors founded Rhode Island. She moved away from the Ocean State when she was 23, to marry a Pennsylvania coal-miner. I have gradually been gravitating back to the region through my adult life, and now find myself in Connecticut. My hope is to meet other local writers to share our work!

Submit often. I will periodically feature writers with their stories, and update members on contests as they get created.
