Day 0 - 12-11-2006.

Worldwide panic. It seemed no one was immune to the disease that struck us, s**t, no one even knew what IT was. The only thing that people were certain of, is that it didn't take long for the disease to set, and that those who were infected died within days.

It wasn't until AxisCorp discovered the Serum Axium that any hope seemed possible. It wasn't a cure, hell it wasn't even a Vaccine but it was something to give us hope for survival. But it isn't that easy to get Axium anymore. it's far to expensive for the unemployed and even the middle class, at least it gives me someone else to blame for my sons death and my own.

but we both know that this isn't the case.

It's been months since I found out I had the disease. It really shouldn't be such a f*****g surprise. Doctors say that it's eighty two percent more likely to be passed on in men rather than women. Figures. All the years of Macho Chauvinism finally comes to kick us in the balls you'd reckon that feminists would be parading the streets. Few of them were too, but that's the thing you see, it's not just them. Religious nuts, conspiracy theorists and every other crackpot with their own ideas on why this is happening, why we deserve this, and how it's all our fault because we sinned.
 No one accepts that maybe the earth just doesn't give a f**k about us, and that maybe., just maybe. S**t happens.

My wife left me not long after our son died. I can't blame her. like I said, the disease is more likely to be passed down through the male gene and She didn't know it then but. I had it too. Difference is I was too scared to even admit that I had it. The Government would pay for the Axium for children under the age of sixteen (the legal working age). It wasn't much but it was enough for them to last a few weeks with a bit to spare. for emergencies. It started with just taking the emergency doses, but the thing about the Axium they gave children was the s***s diluted, enough for kids but not so much for Adults.
