Anyone get strange dreams?

I dreamed I was a character in Avatar: The Last Airbender.
When I was there, I was someone with no power at first, and somehow I was given an ability afterward. It was pretty strange, because I was kicked out because of character conflict.

That dream obviously has no meaning in comparison to the ones I usually get.

Yes! I have really bizarre and detailed ones. I just had one last night that Im thinking about turning into a short story. It's weird the things we dream about--the detail and how sometimes we remember them vividly, and other times, we can barely recall what they were about.

I've been having off-the-wall dreams lately to go along with my off-the-wall sleep habits. Since I've been sick, I haven't really been able to sleep in my bed...damn thing just isn't comfy to me right now. So, anyways, the last few weeks I've been mainly sleeping either on the floor or on the airbed (neither of which go over well with my husband but atleast he's pretending to understand that it has nothing to do with him).

Now, onto my dreams; The main one I've been having is this dream where I'm hanging out with Criss Angel (*drool*) and he does one of his tricks on me but it goes wrong and I disappear from Vegas to only end up in the Stanley Hotel. When I realize it's the Stanley, I get excited (oddly enough I'm not freaked out by my disappearing act) and start to explore. Within a few minutes or so I run into Steve from Ghost Hunters...or should I say, I run through him. I curse outloud as I take note of my extreme deadness and Steve turns around, hearing my words but not seeing me.

I'm not exactly sure how the dream ends because I always wake up around this point. >.<

I love the Stanley Hotel! Stayed there numerous times while growing up in Colorado!

Ah, now onto strange dreams, which are a nightly occurance for me - how on earth do you think I get my writing ideas eh? I do actually have weird dreams every night and I remember them the most of the time. I am a firm believer that there is always a meaning/reason to the dreams we have and remember.

Amazingly, I was watching the morning news the other day and they had a sleep specialist who studies dream patterns on who runs a facility where he tests people with sleep problems and nightmares. He said that when you have a nightmare or a dream and you remember it, there is a meaning behind it. if you don't remember it, then there is no meaning. Hm. Made me think eh?

Anyhoo...I had a dream for a week straight - every night (I didn't sleep for a week straight, though that would be nice) - that involved my two daughters. Now, when I have freaky dreams involving my kids I pay close attention. This one involved both kids, but focused on my youngest. Each night it would play out and in the end, just before I woke up, my youngest would just disappear.

Ah, but it gets weirder. The last night I had it, it really freaked me a bit - and then the next day I took the kids out to supper because we'd had a hellacious wind storm and lost power. We went to a bigger restaurant in the town about an hour away from us and...you guessed it...my youngest daughter disappeared! Talk about a nightmare coming true. I searched for an hour for her...she had slipped outside and was heading across the busy highway to the shore of Lake Michigan to watch the big waves.

Um...I've rambled on a bit more than I should have. Just thought I'd share that.
