NaNoWriMo, anybody?

I know we're not done talking about Halloween yet, but it's November the First, which means it's an even more important time of year. That's write -- it's National Novel Writing Month.

They've got a website up somewhere, which I don't feel like linking to at the moment... you're supposed to start something totally new and get 50,000 words typed/inked/otherwise written by the end of November. Frankly I don't know why I even try -- between schoolwork, military leave, my 21st birthday, and now shoulder surgery, I'm basically doomed to fail. But I keep coming back every year, because who knows, maybe it'll work out.

Anyway, I wanted to see if anybody else had heard about this insanity, and/or was thinking about giving it a shot. I'm using this as an excuse to get started on my conspiracy thriller, and while I know I won't finish, I hope to at least get a good start.
