WHERE IS EVERYONE?

Did the title catch your attention? I hope so! What's up with having 55 members and only a dozen posting a blog on here? Where are the rest of you guys?!?!?!?!

But I can't b***h too much since I slack off myself sometimes, I just wish people would post more in here. I wanted it to be a place to vent...to come to for help of any kind..a place to go when you, as a writer, need someone to 'listen' that will understand.

So, please post in here!   ;)

p,s, I got a call for a interview for a job I really really really want!!!! Cross your fingers for me, Im going to need some luck! Im really nervous, and I never get nervous for interviews...but this one is really important to me....any advice on how to get over the major jitters???? Im not used to feeling so anxious and worried. Normally Im relaxed and go in cool and calm, but this one is going to be different....its not until Friday and I already feel like I might barf from nerves!!!

Shouting out!

I've never actually done a blog - so I will try that later (did I mention that I procrastinate?)

Good luck on the interview - you're nervous cuz you WANT it!

Breathe, honey - just breathe deep!

Breathe. Just breathe. Good luck on the interview, and here's some advice:

DO NOT care whether you get the job or not. I know you're in Hell right now, but for some reason when you really, really, want to get out of where you are, the interviewers can sniff it. Even if you DO want the job really bad, fake like you don't care either way. You'll be more relaxed, and more confident. It's the only thing that has worked for me.

GOOD LUCK!

And I'm sorry I haven't been on here lately. I wrote a piece called "Instinct: Trust It With Your Life" explaining the whole mess of why I wasn't on here for a while.

Again, GOOD LUCK! :)

Hey Chrissy, I'm still around, can't get rid of me that easily.

You'll do great with the interview.  Lots of deep breaths, and deep breathing exercises should help the nerves.  Picture breathing in from the bottom of your lungs, and fill them to the top.  Count to 10 while breathing in the whole time, hold for 5 then count to 10 again while you breath out making sure you completly empty your lungs.  You may want to do it sitting down though cause it make you a little light headed if you are not used to it, and even when you are sometimes.  Hey, it may sound daft, but it's worth a shot right?

Good luck hun, I'll have fingers and everything else crossed for you on Friday, let us know how it goes.

Thank you! You guys are so sweet. I will remember to breathe...or try!

Holly, I know what you mean. I will try to have that air of not caring..but it will be hard, cuz it's not just that I want out of this job, but I really really really want the one Im interviewing for.

Oh well, the way I see it, if it's meant to be, it will.

A few years ago, when I went on an interview for this job I really wanted, I had a sever case of the jitters myself. I was so afraid that I wouldn't get the job because I was still in school for computers at that time while everyone else who applied already had mountains of experiences and their degrees. I went into the interview feeling like I was going to pee my pants (that's how scared I was), but I quickly learned that if you are honest and joke around, the interview relax and you will be able to be yourself without the feeling of food coming up.

Needless to say, I got the job (Yey. Go me!). I don't work anymore, but I still have very fond memories of that job and I loved it. Hells, the day the doctors give me permission to work again I'll probably go back to that kind of work because I really liked my job. I remember the boss calling me and telling me I got the job, but it was going to be on a trial basis for 30 days because of my lack of experience and still being in school. 3 days later he came into my office and gave me a raise. lol.

So, my advice to you is to be yourself, don't think about the other applicants, be honest, and when you really can't think of anything to say when asked a question try joking around (they love an interviewee with a sense of humor, as long as it's not vulgar).

Good luck, Chrissie. Hope you get the job. :)
