Highs and Lows

High:

I finally got my laptop.  It's a bit bigger than I was expecting but it serves its purpose.  It has a pretty strong wi-fi card in it which could be a bad thing; good way to get distracted when I wanna write

Low:

Trying to set up a f*****g secure internet network.  My girlfriend and I already had a network between her laptop and my desktop and I was able to get a secure network between my new laptop and my desktop but it kicked her laptop out and it took me over 3 hours to finally figure it out.

High:

I figured it out

Low:

I was supposed to have people come and play music at the Starbucks I work at this weekend and last minute they all backed out!

Low:

It's supposed to nearly 90 degrees this weekend :(  It was just starting to feel nice with mid to low 70s and now we're going to be sweating again.

Low:

I have to work tomorrow.  Even worse I have to close tomorrow.  Even worse I have to close with my assistant manager who takes FOREVER to get out of there!

High:

I get tips Monday

High:

I have Monday AND Tuesday off work!  That means one of those does is a day where the only plan is to do nothing!

Low:

I have an assignment and an exam due Sunday night.  I close both Saturday and Sunday.  Doesn't give much time to do those

Alright I think that's it!

Wow, a lot going on there.  Hey, since you get tips on a Monday, and you have Monday off, isn't that a low too?  I mean, no work is good, but no tips is bad too.  Good luck with your paper for Sunday hun, hope you get it all sorted out. XX

No, not working and getting tips Monday is a high. We bag up all the tips we get throughout the week from the tip jar, then on Monday we divide it between everyone that works there that isn't a manager. Basicly you take how much you made for the entire week, divide that by how many total hours were worked (this doesn't include hours that you weren't on the floor but that's a whole different ballpark). We usually come up somewhere between $1.70-$1.80.  Then you take that $1.70 or $1.80(or anywhere in between) and you multiply that by how many hours you worked. It basiclly adds an extra $1.70 to your pay each week, except instead of being on the paycheck it comes in the form of actual cash. Does that make sense? Anyways I usally make an extra $60-$80 a week which means I can get my car inspected, which is about time because the inspection was due back in July!
