believe in ghost?

I just want to say thanks for becoming part of this group.
Please feel free to post anything you have on your mind and lets get this group going, and help spread the word for those who feel unconnected. We together can help one another more than we think. Words are powerful things.

I believe in ghosts. But I've never seen one. My dad has. I've seen shadow people. They're scary!
Cool group!

I used to think I could feel them...You know in your room at night, young, and then all of the sudden you feel a cool breeze...? Maybe that was just me. But yeah and the air would be off and everyone sleeping. It was wild. As for friends, I have friends who will take it to their grave that they have seen ghosts, I'm skeptical but I have seen some pretty convincing videos from Ed Warren the late poltergeist.

I don't really believe in ghost per say, but I do believe that demons exist and may come in ghost like appearance just to put fear in people. I believe in the Holy Ghost. Does that count? ::biggrin::

I believe in ghosts. I've had a ghostly experience a time or two in my life. Nothing concrete, like seeing spirits or hearing things or anything of the like, but still, experiences I just firmly believe are not of this physical world.

I believe in them 100% believe it or not but I have a few of them in my house... they aren't exacly the best thing to run into at 3 in the morning.

People say all the time- Oh yeah, I saw a ghost. Or, Well... one time I was in my room and I heard someone talking.
The only thing I think right after hearing someone say that is, this person is nuts! And, I hear it all the time.
-Someone was rocking my my rocking chair-
- Oh yeah! Someone braided ALL the tassels on my rug!-

I mean, don't get me wrong, the idea of ghosts is awsome. I just wish I could actually see one for myself.

i believe that ghosts are a mass of energy that have not manifested in a physical form, or have been removed from the physical form. i do not believe that a ghost is necessarily what we leave when we die, but rather a possible idea of what could be left once the physical form dies. i think your soul could be considered your ghost, it is your being and existence beyond your physical form.

as far as ghost stories, i have actually lived in a house where things happened without reason. for example, the water would turn on and off by its self, and the television, and the ceiling fan. other people claimed to see aparitions, i don't know.

i went on a haunted ghost tour in New Orleans (pre-katrina) and actually took a picture of a ghost, but I couldn't actually see it with my own eyes, it just ended up in the pic. it's really creepy. New Orleans has many ghost stories, and i do not believe that they are all false.

Currently I'm living right across from a cemetary, and it doesn't freak me out one bit. Almost everyone I know thinks it's unbearably creepy.

As for ghosts, I do think they exist. There are things we won't know about until we get there. My home for the first nine months of my life was in the womb, did I know there was anything else then? I'm here now, who knows what's next.

I believe in many ghosts. I think of a ghost as something that haunts you. Or won't leave you alone. It may be a person, thing, or place even. Now 'spirits' or people who may 'come back and give us signs, or letting us know it is a specific PERSON. I believe in that too. I was incredibly close to my uncle, more so than I am with my dad. He died last year 2 days before my birthday. I've had incredibly odd things happen like shirts appearing on my bed out of no where that were his, ciggerette butts of the ciggs he smoked show up in various places I've been and not in public place but; private places like my car/my ashtray/mybathroom/under my bed..things like that. The massive cd player system he has in his room started to disfunction after he left (this is why I believe in them, due to energy and us being energy) it started to do obvious things that were signaling. I could ask a question and it would come on and off, or sometimes it would flip out for no reason, and his mother (my grandmother) let me know (she sleeps in his old room) that it used to come on when she'd wake up and go off when she'd go to bed. And this wasn't due to random malfunction or any pre settings anyone did. IT never did this stuff until after he died.

I believe also that we only will experience and see these things if we truly believe that these things are possible. Not, 'Well I THINK I believe in ghosts, but i'd like to see one before i make my choice..." I don't think it works that way :)

Sorry, wanted to add something:

I also can find it believable that we manifest what we want in our lives as we see fit. Perhaps nothing is real, but we make it real with our minds. Chew on that ;)

There's a Nine Inch Nails song that talks about that kind of stuff... i think one of the lines is like "What if all the world you think you know, is an elaborate dream"

most of my friends hate that song because it dosnt sound like "traditional NIN" but i love that song simply because of that line... people often miss the connection between lyrics and poems i think... lyrics are simply poems with music backing them up... its like poems on steroids, except with poems you can go anywhere you want, where as songs you sorta have to make it work... im a lyracist, philosopher, comedian, loser, dropout, dreamer, wannabe rockstar who occasionally writes introductions to novels (i lose interest in my own work after 3 pages)

nice to meet you

I believe ghosts exists. My grandmother was given the chance to see one when my aunt was a baby. My aunt was crying in the other room so my grandma went to check on her and saw her mother rocking the basinet, putting my aunt back to sleep. When she told me that story, there was a look in her eye that I just can't explain. That was how I knew she was telling the truth. I've heard some things that something like a ghost could have done like the floor creaking when no one was there, the toilet flushing by itself, a light just coming on (ok I didn't hear that one). I've always wanted to see a ghost but I figured I could at least write about some in my fiction stories.

You know, I'd like to say that ghosts exist, and I've had a few strange encounters, but never anything to really convince me. I do like the idea of ghosts though, but I'm not sure if they exist or not.

I believe that demons exist, as well, but I never understood the concept of them wanting to put fear in people. Like possession and all that... the devil doesn't want to scare people away; he wants to turn people away from God to follow him. Why would he send out scary demons that ultimately keep people clutching tightly onto God? I think demons would be nice to you and would tantalize you with tempting situations, not scare the bajesus out of ya.

Just a thought. :D

I absolutely believe in ghosts. I find it completely fascinating. I've only ever had one encounter of seeing a ghost when I was really young. It was at Christmas time so I thought it was Santa. Since then I've come to know what I really saw. We actually have a long line of ghost stories in my family. They are quite fascinating and cover a spectrum from poltergeist to the ghosts that are just impressed images into this time (basically the ghost is seen doing an activity they were known to have done when they were alive, and do it over and over again even in death). I have a picture of an orb that I took when I went to old Jamestown. A really close friend of mine has a picture that her friend sent her that looks like a huge portal in the middle of her living room with a man staring out. Just looking at it will make your hair stand on end. I absolutely love Ed and Lorraine Warren, as was mentioned I believe by Michael. And if you ever want a truly good scare, I would recommend reading some of their published case files. ::suprised::

I lived across the street from a cemetery for 9 years (my parents still live there) and I got the same reaction from people. Was not a big deal... no zombies coming for me or my brother in the middle of the night... no matter how many spells I tried

Yes I do believe in ghosts. I have felt one before. But I know it was my great grandma. Because right after she dyied I was in her kitchen eating some pizza and I felt someone pat me on the head, like she always used to do. I turned around and didn't see anyone but I felt as if I was being watched. So, now I wear a necklace with an angel on it. To remind me that I have a gaurdian angel watching over me and I keep it close to my heart to remind me of her.

Yeah, I believe in ghosts like I believe in cars and clouds. I think some living people are ghosts. I definately agree with the definitions that Hel and Jazlyn put down. Also alot of you have had some interesting experiences with ghosts that I find cool. I think all a ghost needs is some love. Send a ghost some love, they'll find their way home. Just don't stick around them too long because they are wasting their time being ghosts.

I believe that there are ghostish figures, but not ghosts persay. I think that we have like souls, angels sort of, that watch over us. I don't think that there are ghosts that would harm us, but perhaps comfort us and try to show us the way in life.
