Fantasy Foretold Forum Where'd Arutha go?
Where'd Arutha go?11 Years AgoJust wondering where he went, wasn't sure if anyone had any idea. It feels sort of lonely without him. This was the first group that I've actually participated in actively, and that was mostly because of Arutha's optimism and excitement about it, trying to get more FF members to take part in reviewing and sharing ideas.

Re: Where'd Arutha go?11 Years AgoThat is most considerate of you! Actually, I've been completely swamped at work and I was starting to get this feeling like the only thing actually keeping this group going is the crazy amount of time I put into it. It just feels kind of contrived, like the community is completely dependent on the oft-hours of work I put into it every day. I just don't have that kind of time with work and trying to write.
If you guys want, I'd be willing to do a weekly newsletter or something, but I'm definitely turning it down a notch from the daily newsletters, forum work, reviews, author featuring, seeking new members, and generally all the stuff I was doing on a daily basis just to maintain people's attentions. Anyway, sorry if you guys feel like I let you down, but I hope you'll forgive me. Also, if anyone wants to do story swaps, I'm still all for it! |

Re: Where'd Arutha go?11 Years AgoOh! I figured it was something like that. Maintaining a group like this is pretty time consuming, I just didn't want something bad to have happened. You don't have to continue the newsletters, I understand why you stopped. I'm sure most of us won't have a whole lot of time anymore to participate considering school is about to start, etc. Glad you're okay!

Re: Where'd Arutha go?11 Years AgoI'm swamped at the moment as well. However, come Novemeber, I'll have some time on my hands. Is there any way other members can help you out? I really like this group and I don't want to see it get lost to memory because the founder got burnt out.

Re: Where'd Arutha go?11 Years AgoI already told the owners they should make a way to pass groups off, but I don't think anyone does anything for this site anymore. Actually, if they had set it up better it would work just fine without me ;-/
By the way, if anyone's interested, "authonomy.com" is the one I've been spending more time on. They use forums instead of groups, and you can tell which ones people are actually talking in (unlike the stale forums here, there are actually people, you know, talking in them ;-P). And they have a system where people "shelve" books to help the best ones get to the "editor's desk." It's a good incentive system to keep people reading each other's stuff. Plus, if some day I don't have much time, I don't feel like I need to make time anyway, you know? |

Re: Where'd Arutha go?11 Years AgoYeah, I think the thing with the forums is that you don't get a notification when someone replies to your post so its kinda hard to keep a conversation going unless you keep checking back on the forum.

Re: Where'd Arutha go?11 Years AgoI was wondering the same thing! I haven't posted or read anything in a minute, because I've also been busy as hell, but I'm happy to see you've got the group still going. :)
(I love the messages you send out. Some of the things you add are so cheesy, but hilarious nonetheless.)
