Re: INTRODUCE YOURSELF!

Hi I am Brent and I have always loved works of fantasy.

My love of fantasy began in third grade when I invented the kingdom of Areia with a group of my friends.  We always played games involving it and I was always the narrator.  Eventually, the story line grew and took on a form of its own.  So I decided to write a series about it and post the first few chapters on this website to get some reviews.  Although, when I got here I found out that there are so many inspiring works.  So, I am trying to not only get reviews myself, but am also trying to give as many reviews as I can to others.

Hello! I am so surprised to have been invited to join this awesome group of writers all across the Cafe and the world too! Generally I tend to keep my real name secret, so you may call me by my Pen name here on the Cafe, The fox, or just Fox for short. When I was younger, reading wasn't really my thing until I was in my first year of high school and in my first job. I was introduced then to my all time favorite fantasy series and author "The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan (and Brandon Sanderson)." So in love with that incredible series am I that I have read it over six times now and am working toward finishing it entirely now that the final book has been released.
Anyway, as for my own personal writing. I've been trying off and on to write out my imaginations constant ideas since I was back in middle school but most times I lost the will to keep going and gave up.
My first major work is an idea that came to mind a long time ago when I got an epic game for the PlayStation 2 and thus I decided I just must try and write it out. Though this isn't my first time trying to write it out (all other attempts were given up on or just flopped.) Also I am still working on this, so it may be a bit before I post it completely. Well, unless I am convinced otherwise anyway.

Hope you all enjoy! I look forward to reading some of your works too!!

Hallo! My name's Jordan Goodier. Big fan of the fantasy genre. Hope to read good bits of fantasy writing here too! I've written a feature length fantasy script that I intent to make, and I've played with the thought of putting it up. Since I do intend to make the film and submit it to film festivals eventually, I am hesitant. But I may put up parts of the script.

Hello! :)

My name is Ivan and I work on video games for a living. For those that know the field, I am an environment artist, recently I worked as a lighter in a very dark and heroic game ;) (I can't actually say what I worked on yet but you can assume lol)

Anyways, I'm not here to talk about my life, we're all here because we love reading and writing high fantasy. That said, everything I write is high fantasy and for a VERY mature audience. Don't be misguided, that doesn't mean it's erotica. But the themes are very dark and cynical so you can expect to see things like death, torture, sex (not to get off on but it's in there lol what you do while reading it is your business), and controversial things. I believe nothing in the world should be censored so in that same sense, nothing in my story is censored. I have two books I'm writing but currently I'm working on my more popular one, God's Requiem. Take a look, read a couple chapters, and if it's for you, enjoy it. If not, it's fine. No story appeals to every single person.

But there you have it! My introduction :)

P.S. If you review my chapters I will return the favor even if it takes me a while.

Hi, I'm Aaron... aka Wolfwind Words

I dabbled in fantasy material here and there. Not so much in stories but in World Creation and the Maps that go along with Stories. While I do write some of my own, they are far and few between, as i consider myself more a poet than a weaver of epic tales.

But ever since I spent 10 years running a Dungeons and Dragons gaming group...fantasy kinda got stuck in my mind. =)

Feel free to check out some of the Maps that i've created.  I have a few small versions posted on my profile page as well as some larger versions in my photo section.

My name is Chris and I've been devouring high and low fantasy since I was a kid. I love creating worlds and living in them. I also write vampire fiction, poetry and have dabbled in merging all sorts of genres together to create something truly fun - at least I hope so!

I'm not a great writer but I do think with all the experience I have writing personally and professionally that I do have some advice to impart. I will be more than happy to review anything, only ask :)

Hey everyone I'm Kinni and I love to write dark fantasy (although some people do not consider it a sub-genre). I've always enjoyed reading horror as well.
I have only been writing for a couple of years and I seem to have fallen back on short stories and I've completed one book and started on the second but never finished it.
I'm currently working on some novels that I haven't posted yet but hopefully will sometime soon. It's nice to meet you :-) -Kinni

First off, D&D rules! I haven't played in forever though. I feel like dark fantasy could be a sub genre. I mean, sometimes people that stuff way too seriously, honestly ;-P I personally prefer a good mix of darkness and light fun.

My number one favorite thing about fantasy is the lore. I've always loved ancient/foreign cultures, histories, languages and social structures. Naturally, the fantasy genre offered me the perfect platform to use all the things I know and bring to life a totally new world. Tolkien is my hero for the depth he went to in creating his worlds. I'm sort of mimicking his method with my latest book. I'm creating languages, mythologies and histories to match each culture.

I was introduced to Magic by my uncle. He owns a store that specializes in magic so he helped me get started. I also like to play the Elder Scrolls games and Assassin's Creed.

Besides nerding out and writing I'm painting or singing. I was in my high school's top vocal ensemble for all four years and I'm hoping to either take violin lessons or do something vocally. I've always been artsy but most of my work was confined to drawings. This past summer I picked up some oil paints and oil pastels and that's where my artistic side has been manifesting.

At the moment I only know two languages proficiently English (obviously) and French. Currently, I'm studying both Latin and Old English.

In a month and a half I'll be starting my pre law program yay!

Anyways those random facts are about the only things I can think of telling you guys right now.

Hi, I write poetry and and fantasy stuff, as well as short stories. I really enjoy reading fantasy adventure stories, and I am a big fan of role playing games like D&D and Warhammer 40k Dark Heresy, the latter I've come to know of this week. I really enjoy writing, and I hope you can give my stuff a read and leave a comment sometime. I've been looking for a group where I can share my stuff and get some feedback. :)

Hello fellow writers,

My name is Cedric, and above all, I love to write. Fantasy is, indeed, as enjoyable as they come, and Science Fiction is typically my niche. I like to take a fantasy approach to postmodern Science Fiction to be specific. That's what I do most often at least. In any case, I'm writing a novel to be published as an e-book in the near future, but in the meantime, I'm also writing another recreational, Fantasy/Sci-Fi pseudo-screenplay at the moment. I think its the creation of a world or universe and its concepts that captivates me most about the process, so I can never stop doing it.

I'm an avid anime fan, so every now and then, you may find such influences. My current write may echo of Ghost in the Shell, for example, indicative of my love for the older generation of anime, but for those who aren't into such things, my concentration on anime in my own writing isn't that strong. I draw from a plethora of sources, so I think my work will be enjoyable for any who read on some level or another.

In any case, it's great to meet you all.

Er - hello, I'm Ethereal - otherwise known as KaityMarie or just plain Kaitlyn.

Well, where do I start.

I just joined this cite a couple days ago, so I'm pretty much as nooby as it can get.

Agh, I'm so nervous, I feel surrounded by such talented writers.

I'd say the sub-genre of fantasy I tend to write in can range from high to low fantasy (If that makes sense), mixed in with some urban and paranormal fantasy and some slipstream. Basically following the YA crowd, since after all I'm sixteen - I don't wander out of that, except my new work which follows a science-fantasy-like concept with teens having extrasensory perception (ESP).

Other than that, it's nice to meet everyone and I'm glad I joined Writers Cafe, as well as this group - hopefully I can read some stories on here! c:

Someone else who writes low fantasy, yay, that's good to hear.  It seems most of the people on this site write high fantasy with really elaborate, pre-modern worlds.  Welcome and thanks for the intro about yourself. : )
