[no subject]17 Years AgoWow you mean you were not apart of the Harry Potter craze? Crazy! I was an origonal HP freak! ;p Gah I love those books. I haven't read the last book though. Part of me wants to, part of me is afraid of who is going to get killed... I should read it before someone spoils it for me...

[no subject]17 Years AgoLiz, i have to say i as not part of the Harry Potter fan club, i like what JK Rowling has done with the books, but the stories themselves were always missing something for me. (if that makes sense)

[no subject]17 Years AgoWell...favorite writer is H.P. Lovecraft, so I've been reading a lot of his works online.
Just finished reading The Rats In the Walls by him-- one of his best! He's a master of horror :] |
|
[no subject]17 Years AgoI just purchased a collection of H.P. Lovecrafts works, I think it has the story "Call of Cuthullu" in it. I prolly spelled that wrong, but oh well. And he is indeed brilliant. Too bad most of the compilations out there have 90% other peoples works instead of his. Was a real bummer when I spent $15 and only got 2 stories by him and a dozen and a half by other people.... grr grr grr!!

[no subject]17 Years AgoLol, poor you! If you're still interested in wanting to read more of his works, here's a link to a site that features pretty much anything he has ever written:
And I suggest you read Lovecraft's The Rats In the Walls first! Another great story by him is The Shadow Over Innsmouth. You may enjoy it. However, you may feel like giving up when you reach close to the middle of the story because of how one of the characters' dialogue seems to go on forever, which makes the reader feel lost; it becomes a bit boring because the story seems like its being stalled by the dialogue. But all in all, its a really great piece :] Ah, and you almost spelt it right! "Cthulhu". |
|
[no subject]17 Years AgoAt this point, I'm reading "Angels & Demons," by Dan Brown--Da Vinci Code was sucky, but this one is a lot better. I'm also, at some point, finally going to finish "Atlas Shruged," by Ayn Rand.

Is Rats in the Wall the one about the witch that hunts babies and the college grad student who rents a room in a deladated old house? The one where there is a rat with a mans face? I guess I'll have to check that one out! Thanks for the link! |

[no subject]17 Years AgoNope, that's not the one. In fact, I don't think I've even read such a story! (gonna have to find out who the author is so I can read it though! lol) |

[no subject]16 Years AgoWar and Peace....unabridged....everyone uses this book as a doorstop so I thought I'd read it.
Other than that, just finished "Idoru" by William Gibson. Not his best work but I enjoyed it. I hate Harry Potter. |
|
[no subject]16 Years AgoWell you either love it or hate it. its not too bad... ^_^ To each their own! I'm going to try and make my way through The Wheel of Time by Robert Jordan. He died recently before he could finish the last book in the series. And Brandond Sanderson is going to be writing the final book. (Jordans Wife chose Sanderson) So we shall see...
