My favourite poems i have made have usually derived from songs i have listened to.  Music is such a big deal for me and i was wondering if you guys felt the same way. 

Most def! I use music to set the mood for my works, if Im feeling jazzy I listen to some jazz and just write, if im feeling pissed I listen to something faster. 

Oh yes! I always listen to my favorite bands while writing stories. I'm too afraid to use this technique for poems though, because I'm afraid I will incorporate the lyrics directly into what I'm writing. XD
