I've been reading Silvia's work, and she/he already reads a lot of the members work, I dont have a problem with their joining. ::smile::

Actually, Silvia is a 360 friend of mine. She's a published novelist. She'd be a grand edition if you don't mind going over the 15 limit we set. I'd love to have her here.

OK tell me if this sounds too harsh...but, once we all get to knowing each other more and all, if we see a member who is never active in any facet of the group, should we boot em? I mean send them a nice msg telling them that we are wanting a small group of active members etc etc...whatcha think??

I dont know Ron, cause I know I'd be a candidate to get booted, because I have moments i'm just to busy to get my head around to writing and in those times I spend all my time I do have reviewing instead. But oh well.
And my daughter, well, she and her friend get together about once a fortnight sometimes once a week so I know they wont be very active. They are also not terribly confident in their skills because they are so young.
I would think if even with 15 members if each member put out 2 to4 pieces per day like some people do we would have a hard time keeping up also. And there are time people write like that, we all have our moments.
there are over 600 pieces of work between us already, Im sure quite a lot of it has not yet been looked over by anyone, or in the least been commented on if even simply to say its shocking take it down and save our eyes lol.

But your the moderator ::smile::

I guess it depends on how long the inactivity is. If we limit this to a small group, it would be good to see the members active, at least in reviews of the other member's works. But that wouldn't show up in the group page, would it?

Define a member's group activity could get pretty complicated. Don't forget to factor in activity on the forum.

Yeah...I mean like long term inactivity, actually. you know like someone that noone ever sees anything from for quite some time. we'd pose the question of their membership to the group and see if anyone says they've had reviews, seen posts, etc etc

nice to see participation in the voting on the first feature contest! 13 votes in so far, that's almost all.

Forgive me everyone, Im preoccupied, and although around cant concentrate enough to offer the comments you all deserve, give me a few days and Ill be catching up,,,,,, Till then, sorry.

I think we all understand that. I am still working on balancing time spent online reading other people's works, which is one thing, and commenting, which is another, and then splitting my time on my writing, revising, looking for markets, and submitting. I am committed to read the works of this group and the Workshop like I did those of classmates, slowly and seriously.

Although I have spurts of excitement on the cafe, I also have down times. This does not mean that I'm not reading everyone's work. I am reading a lot of it actually, I just don't take or have the time to leave reviews and such. I assure you all that I am reading though...and eventually will gather thoughts enough about a piece to submit reviews. In other words, I'm saying that I think all in the group so far understand completely

I think we all do that sometimes. I know I read lots of work on the cafe and leave without commenting. I eventually find my way back and the second or third or fourth reading usually does the trick and I comment accordingly. . . .

It must have been a busy weekend here. My subscriptions have gone through pages of stuff I haven't read yet. Everybody have a great day.

Sorry I haven't been very active lately guys (and gals). Just been VERY busy with work, kids startin school...wife goin back to work...blah blah blah...basic IRL stuff, ya know? Just haven't had much time lately to read, review, make contests, etc. Hopefully, I'll be able to set up another group feature contest soon. I've basically just been jumpin on and checkin what ppl have left me and occasionally (did i say OCCASIONALLY?) givin out a review or somethin. I know yer all doin great work of which i've been able to read very little. I'll try harder when I get a little spare time...such as now maybe. (depends on how sleepy i get..gotta leave for work in about 10 more hrs for another 14 hr work day :( )

I've wondered where you've been. ::cry:: We've all been busy. My kids start school on Wednesday, but there's all the back to school stuff to be done. Work thinks it should be a priority.

Hope you get to come back soon!

I might not be as active as some of our members too... My production rate has always been an anomaly, commenting I can do all over but it's just such a long process on my end that for every piece I comment on at least 10 more are made... And this is my important school year, the last one, so I will be working a lot. But, if it doesn't bother you guys I'd like to continue being a member, and if anything I'll leave if I see myself creating more chaos than help. But one thing is good for shure, I am back.
