Already this can be a thread to post any suggestions that anyone might have. Everything is open to discussion and here's my first train of thought...

Should I just have open membership to the group...
or...
Should I keep it on approval membership???

(the only real reason I kept it on approval thus far is that I wanted to keep out any "group" type members...ya know like ZZQ Publicationators or whatever LoL)

I'm kina diggin' on the intimacy of this group. I guess I'm being selfish, b/c I want time to get to know everyone pretty good and get a chance to read every piece of every member before expanding out. But hey, that's just the opinion of one.

Yes that is also another great benefit...and i like yer train of thought there...

we could even say...limit the # of members for a period of time...say at first to twenty....get to know each other..then take on 5-10 new members...

...orrrrr......

I think new members by invitation only for a while, I like attempting to get to know people better.. And as it is, the net sux in that area. Ah dont mind me Im just having a bad day. But I like the idea of a smallish group.

I also like the small group. That's why I stopped posting to MySpace groups, because a poem might be viewed by one person if it's not swept off the front page within a minute. And I find I am going to this group more often to see new pieces posted, as I can get to know people by more than one piece. This becomes more like a wrtier's workshop.

I find that of all the groups I joined when I first came here, this is the one I come to the most. I like the intimacy. I like the small group thing. I've almost invited friends over a time or two. I really enjoy getting to know writers well enough that I can make suggestions that are more meaningful.

I agree Emily although anyone can look in on our group, I am enjoying the size, I like intimacy, and have only invited one person, Mualpharho, I really am enjoying getting to know you all, well almost all, there are a few I dont Know at all, Mualpharho & I have been chatting to since December perhaps longer and I still have no idea who he is, and its driving me CRAZY lolololol. I enjoy security and hardly ever feel secure so really the small group thing really suits me.

I just had an idea. ::smile::

We're getting to know each other a little better here. What if each group member contributed to a thread one poem that says the most about either who you are as a person or who you are as a writer. . .

(Procrastination at its best. I really need to get to work.)

I like that idea Emily. I'll start the thread "Poems of Us"! ::smile::

I'll also have to come up with my own as well LoL. and i also like the small group...that perhaps expands a little at a time...let's limit the membership to what for a while? 20? 25? we're at 12 now. we could even just do 15 for now but i figure there might be a person or two each existing member may already want to invite...so let's vote on it

How's this idea...

every month i have a group contest entitled Featured Artemon Artist or some such. everyone submits a work and we vote on it and that person takes the spotlight on the group's featured section for that month. or we could do shorter time spans if everyone wanted. this would keep me from being the only one to decide on who gets featured...it'd be a group effort...don'tcha love democracy? LoL

We all have such wonder suggestions in our happy little family. I'm good w/ what the group decides. I vote 15 at first w/ special exceptions made for personal invitations. When we feel it's time to grow...{cue dramtatic pause music}...we'll know. {cut music} Voting on the featured writer is a good idea as well. The length of the featured writer I think should revolve fairly frequently...biweekly? Until our numbers grow? It's about exposure, right? Let's encourage, support, and push our Artemon writers.

I'm likin it. I'll go ahead and start a group contest for the next feature...we'll let emily continue in the spotlight until this one is done..well i won't start it yet LoL...how long to let it run? a week...two...??

Hey. Sorry I'm just now checking out the group page. It just totally slipped my mind till Ronnie reminded me about it. I like what you all have decided. I'll work on my "about me" poem this week. I've actually been debating writing a biographical essay or something. Will that do or does it have to be a poem? Either way, I don't think it should be a problem. Let me know when the submissions for the contest are due. Thanks.

I like the idea of a bi-weekly contest. My next thought is whether the contest would be that we each submit a poem, or if we use a theme, so the contest is a way to challenge us to some new creativity.

I like themed and just a feature contest...both sound good to me...so we could do both from time to time alternate what the feature winner is from or something. It definitely would challenge us to write. we just need a little more activity here to decide something i think. i like for at least most of the group to be involved in deciding things.

It all sounds good to me. I'm looking forward to reading all of the works that these contests generate.

I apologize on my behalf in I'm not as active in this group, or befriending most of you... I'm still new to the whole process, and quite a slow learner this time a year.. In fact, I will soon (in four days time) not be active on this website for a good while (until mid september) So I'll try to write up that poem about who I am, and for Shane's and Armada's sakes, I'll try to be as upfront about as much as I can.

I've begun writing the piece, though I will be doing it in portions and I will be taking my time...

I vote for a small group of invitation only.
