A B N A Vets Forum The Poor Penguin
The Poor Penguin16 Years AgoWell ABNA vets, From browsing the rejected writing, (haven't had time to review it all yet) I'm finding much that is good, and some writing The Penguin would love; writing that would fit their roster perfectly. Anybody think Amazon should have taken more care in the initial culling? (Some great stuff got through, like our Leah D's and others - but the quality of some of the rejected stuff is breaking my heart.) Your loss, Penguin. That's enough 'sour grapes' for me. Just wanted to let you know that getting rejected from Amazon certainly doesn't mean your writing was no good. |

[no subject]16 Years AgoI second this observation. There is a hell of a lot of good stuff that deserves to see the light of day, even if not selected by ABNA,

[no subject]16 Years AgoI've been keeping myself from writing Penguin and telling them to demand to see the rejected ones.

[no subject]16 Years AgoI've read some of the rejected ones posted here and they are definitely better than some of the stuff I've read from the semi-finalist list. Of course, there's some really good stuff in the semi-finalist list too, but I do think some got rejected that could have easily made the cut.

[no subject]16 Years AgoI look forward to the day when my book goes huge because I will go out of my way to thank Amazon for rejecting it, and thus not giving Penguin the first right of refusal. I'm sure that will kick the hornet's nest just a bit as far as the wingless bird company is concerned.
