I'd like your feedback as a reader and a scholar of writing technique.

Which kind of protagonist is stronger and more interesting to you? The ordinary person, perhaps with some special talents? Or the extrordinary person, with some human failings?

Chrysoula, I'm not sure where to draw the distinction.

I like a protagonist with some serious flaws that will get him or her into trouble.  Those are the kind I know and write.

Since I'm writing fantasy they definitely have to be extraordinary in some way too.

I seem to draw on my own traits quite a bit when I define characters, exagerating the good ones, in particular -- maybe playing down the bad ones a bit. ;-}
