Quite right... in the end, there can be only one.

But in the meantime, there will be 1000 on Tuesday. I've been on pins and needles waiting for this day, I hope everyone else is coping better than I am.

I know, we are actually competitors, but I hope the best succeed in a fair process. May the best meme win.

Personally, I go for a 5-mile-run every second day to burn off the nervous energy and otherwise keep occupied with reading lots of books (currently: The Conscious Mind by David Chalmers, next up: The Great Gatsby or Grapes of Wrath).

I have it in my mind that those who are moving on to the next round will be notified today.  I don't know why I keep thinking this.  And I haven't gotten an email yet, so I hope I'm wrong.

I need to stop thinking about this.

I expect notification sometime today. Or at least a webpage update. If there's no notification, no cover page update and no searchable readable list of semifinalists at midnight, I'll be irritated. Helpless, but irritated.

To be honest, for some reason I expect this whole contest to run late for 2-3 days. Wouldn't be surprised if things weren't posted until Thursday or Friday. :)

You might win the prize for best guess; so far I can find nothing on the ABNA site regarding the 1000; received no e-mail; and can find no thread in the discussion board from people who made the cut.  *shrug*  Figures.

I'm guessing that people who made the cut, if notifications have gone out, have been asked to keep it quiet until Amazon announces the list.

The scientific notion that a theory has to be falsifiable to qualify as valid theory is something not to be easily abandoned in everyday life either. It's beneficial to one's mental health. :)

I think nothing has happened yet and the whole process just hit some delays.

Definitely irritated now. Even if they're going to take a few extra days, they should know that now, and they should be posting updates on their main page. That's good manners and professionalism.

I guess I'll give them until 6 until I really start sulking.
