Hi, folks. Some of you may recognize me from Totga, ABNAbooks.com, and a rare comment on the ABNA forums. Or not. :)

Now that I'm one of the "tied-for-11th-place" semifinalists (for Children of Light), I'm trying to get as much mileage as possible out of my PW and other reviews and top 100 status. I'm not sure it's taking me far, but it's motivation enough to pester my agent into action on my account. Just today he sent a chummy email to an editor who received my proposal with praise and enthusiasm before kindly rejecting it because that house isn't publishing novels set in my time period. The good thing is, she gave him a few tips on who might be interested.

That said, I'm really trying to focus on new projects. My goal is to trade my poorly paying teacher's salary for poorly paying freelance work. At least I'll be living my passion, right?

Hello!

Hello all! I submitted a fantasy novel to the ABNA competition. I made the first cut but did not make the Top 100.

My novel is currently with a freelance editor, who will be giving me feedback and suggestions around mid-April. After that, I suspect I'll be doing a lot of revising.

Five of my nonfiction books have been published by Globe Pequot Press and I'm working on a sixth for them right now. I'm looking forward to March 2009, when my first picture book will be published by Sylvan Dell.
