   See full size image      The Other Side of Midnight                                                                                                                                 The other side of midnight                                                                                                         Grandma told this little tale                                                                                                          About vampires and werewolves                                                                                                        And she wasn’t drinking ale                                                                                                                                                            No she was quite sober                                                                                                                     Nary a drop ever touched her lips                                                                                                           I wrote down her words                                                                                                                     Into my manuscripts                                                                                                                                                           She said vampires were real                                                             They stalked her in the night Lusting for her blood Giving her a fright        Next she told me about the night A werewolf came to call Gnashing its teeth and growling Stabbed its claws into the wall           She used her silver wedding knife Stabbed it deep into its heart In just a moment later It turned into her neighbor Art           Grandma what happened to the vampire? I asked, my face lit up with fear   It was then I remembered the stick That she carried inside her purse         I always wondered why She carried that sharpened stick I don’t wonder anymore Grandma told me she used it quick         A vampire caught her one starry night As she was walking to the barn She stabbed that stick in deep This ends my little yarn
