I have been writing in some form or another for the last fifteen years.

As a young girl, I was an avid reader of action-adventure books. In my teens, my tastes expanded into Fantasy and Spy Thrillers. As my tastes changed, so did the subject of my writing.

But, one thing that didn't change, despite the genre of my written works, was the presence of a strong female protagonist.

Almost all of my works possess a headstrong heroine who navigates her way through the proverbial 'man's world'. Refusing to compromise and submit to misogynistic rules of engagement, she marks out her own path instead. Perhaps this is a response to my own life experiences; perhaps I am living vicariously through my characters. Their journey is mine. But it is one in which I can control the circumstances and their outcomes. As a writer, that's my prerogative.

Through my reading of fantasy novels and watching shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer as a teen, I became fascinated with their rich mythology. I explored this through my brief dabble into the exciting and imaginative world of Fan Fiction.

I am a fiction writer at heart. It is what inspires me to dream, create, imagine. It is who I am.
