About MeTo date I have published the first novel in my YA trilogy: Wireless in the Fabric of Time. It was released in January 2007, and can be ordered through Amazon, and Barnes & Noble. Wireless: Life Doesnt Rewind Across the Universe will be the second part in the series, and should be available in book stores sometime in June of 2008.
While working on my novels, I started a series of blogs. First, Totally YA, focuses on all things young adults, another, Up Close & Personal, is an ongoing conversation with authors and others from various genres, and the third, A View Form the Top, attempts to offer insight into agents and publishers points of view. The response to the blogs has been exciting and encouraging. It seems readers enjoy an open conversation with authors, agents and publishers of all ages, in which the bloggers voice takes a back seat. The free expression that results has been enlightening to me as well, and as it happens has expanded my interests to fiction. Goodbye Bling-Bling, Hel--looo, Jailbird! will be my first attempt at fiction. The plot is based on a true story, and is a classic tale of one mans lust for the American dream. It is my first book written to the adult audience, but the life lessons will not be lost on young adults. Look for a September 2008 release. I am currently working on more titles for 2008. Check in on my sites from time to time to find the latest news on my work, as well as the thoughts and comments of writers and others, who are shaping the literary landscape. Through them we are able to experience worlds, places, times and imagine we would never otherwise know or see. They are immortal, these bits of ink and paper - the words of persons far away or long dead can touch us through them. No wonder the art of writing has, for so long, been associated with magic. Here are few of the books I love....... Twilight by William Gay, Sons & Other Flammable Objects by Porochista Khakpour Angelica by Arthur Phillips Then We Came To The End by Joshua Ferris The Life of Pi by Yann Martel Last Seen Leaving by Kelly Braffet Gates Of Fire by Stephen Pressfield, Satanic Verses by Salman Rushdie 18 Seconds by George D. Shuman The Peoples Act of Love by James Meek and Waste Land by Stephen King FAVE TV SHOWS C'mon...seriously...who wants to watch TV, when we can read a book? Okay people... Don't you think the internet has replaced it for us? I really do believe that television was invented by E.T. and those little creatures from Mars, to keep the human race from achieving our full potential. TV has desensitized the world to violence; fostered short attention spans and sedentary lifestyle. It also causes brain atrophy activity. Oookay, enough said....Anyway, here are my recent choices: 24, Moonlight, Prison Break, House, Criminal Minds, Shark, NCIS, My name is Earl and Heroes... TV has not been the same since Johnny Carson... died. VICES: Lattes, Reeses, Redeye flights, dirty martinis, internet connections..... INFLUENCES: Hmmm. Its gotta be my well loaded iPod iTouch, FAVE FILMS Here are the list of movies I can watch over and over again: Breakfast at Tiffany, Blade Runner, ET, Big Chill, Casablanca, American Graffitti, Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid, Sting and Star Wars. FAVORITE QUOTE: "If you can't enter the publishing world through the front door, try the back door - if that door is locked also, there is almost always a window open." Jennifer DeChiara, Literary Agent SO FAR..... Collector of air miles. Currently lives in Minor Outlying Islands, and I usually keep my satchel and backpack full of stuff ready for the moments when wanderlust calls...... Comments
