Ryan Pratt

As a student of journalism, it is a nice change of pace to get to take a step back and interview myself. The tough part is debating what questions I ask myself.

The natural form of a newspaper story would give you some background information up front, followed by the next most interesting chunk of information, leaving what is seen as unimportant junk at the end. All of these paragraphs come together to make up what I am today.

My name is Ryan Samuel Pratt. I am 23 years old and a graduate of The Ohio State University. I spent my first two years in college as an architecture major and switched to journalism at the end of my junior year. After trying the dorm experience my freshmen year and then living in a house with five other guys, I moved off campus and got a chocolate lab, Cali. I spent the first 18 years of my life in Canton, Ohio (yes, the home of the Football Hall of Fame).

As with all Buckeyes, I am huge fan of football, along with many other sports. I am a fan of the Browns, Bills, Jets and Giants in the NFL; the Indians and Yankees in the MLB; the Cavaliers in the NBA; the Blue Jackets in the NHL; Crew and (of course) Galaxy soccer in the MLS; Jeff Gordon and Jimmie Johnson in NASCAR; Andy Roddick in tennis; and Tiger Woods on the PGA Tour. My father spent his childhood in upstate New York and has passed his love for many of the New York teams down through me.

I also enjoy participating in many sports and recreational activities. I try and play basketball, volleyball or tennis four or five times a week. During the winter, I try and go skiing at least twice a year. In the summer, I enjoy just about anything on the water or outdoors.

I also have become an avid movie watcher since I�ve been in college. My aspirations include screenwriting or directing a film as well as moving out west at some point in my life. I always figure if I don�t leave soon I will never leave. Some of my favorite movies include Casablanca, Star Wars, Fight Club and Garden State.
