About MeeD! was born to Ed and Kathy Thomas in August of 1983. Quickly seeing that they had struck perfection on the first go-round, they decided to not have any other children, as to keep themselves from being disappointed from an inferior product. He has, to this point, lived on Long Island his entire life, mainly because his parents don't charge him rent and continue to feed him.
eD! first started practicing what he calls "writing the funny" in Junior High School, when his creative writing teacher, Mr. Rice, assigned the class to write a screenplay. eD! wrote a moving piece about a murder in a Long Island town, centered on the shakey premise that "Weird Al" Yankovic would allow a 13 year old to clear his name, which would then turn into a series of Scooby-Doo like films where Mr. Yankovic and eD! would go about solving mysteries. The first film, entitled "The Yankovic Murders," was never produced. This is due to the fact that eD! refuses to this day to let anyone read it, since it is, in eD!'s words, "absolute dog crap." In his Senior year of High School, eD! returned to writing after being asked by his former English teacher, Ms. Shaperis, to create a "funny essay" for the school's literary magazine, something to be a counterbalance to the downright pathetic, self-loathing poetry that other people were sending in. Accepting the challenge as a great way to meet "hot literary chicks," eD! wrote a four page piece on the American healthcare system and how it works. Although it was popular with the magazine's readers and staff, it did not help eD! to get a date. After graduation, eD! spent a semester in SUNY Alfred, where he quickly became friends with Brandon J. Mendelson, founder of the popular then-radio program, 'The Brandon Show.' After spending one episode feeding the show's cast lines over AOL Instant Messenger, Brandon invited eD! to be part of the program, live in the studio. Although eD!'s first outing was less-than-stellar, he quickly became comfortable with his surroundings, and quickly became known around campus. This led to eD! getting his own show, 'eD! Is Way Cooler Than You,' which featured a rotating cast of co-hosts, a wide range of music, and an offer to the listening audience to call in and insult both eD! and WETD, the station he called home. This back and forth with the audience became popular enough that the show became a 70/30 mix of improv and music. However, after spending too much time at the station and not enough time in the classroom, eD! and SUNY Alfred parted ways. eD! then attended Nassau Community College, where he majored in Computer Science. Then he took a semester off. Then he went back. This ends the boring paragraph. In the fall of 2004, eD! left NCC and moved on to SUNY Farmingdale, where he is currently studying to be a Computer Security Specialist, although he hopes to be rich before he gets his degree. He is also a writer for 'The Brandon Show,' now seen at SUNY Potsdam on their local television station, contributing to their popular 'Suck And Swank' segment, which he also named. Comments
