******************************************************************** This is the poem of a friend that I find to be exceptional: The Seventh Thread Intermingled and woven Line by line and thread by thread Within the proper placing of fate Often outside the desired placing of the heart Our lives carry on In reality and in fantasy Carried on continually Over and under, under and over Intertwined, connecting with much Linked, stringent, and detained But there is the seventh thread Which offers respite, a gap creating a breach Inside the inner recesses of the boundaries of reality Throughout plaited strands, loosely knit What is it that now can drift freely Within, without, around and about The links are open wide Dreams and fantasy Escape and rebirth The legions of demons are presently the ones Left to stand and howl at the gates They are now the ones on the outside looking in Hopes and desires finally float unreservedly Drifting throughout the fabric of our being Within the row and space of the seventh thread Which holds grand emotion and life The mind’s eye carries on an existence Finally! Into the land of the living Offerings of comfort, support and aid Pleasure and peace held out, proffered Stages upon which to become an expressed self They appear, beckon, and welcome All held within security, safety, and warmth And starting at the edge of the eighth thread It all becomes undone © 2012 Jenny Nelson Comments
