I'm still quite new to the writing world other than the fact I enjoyed and excelled at English through my years of school and college. I mostly just write poetry because of my scattered mind and deep emotions it seems to fit best for me.
I appreciate and enjoy any reviews, advise, compliments on my writing and will try to reciprocate the same to those that stop by.
I always seemed to gear my writing towards using it as an outlet for pain, but now I would like broaden that horizon and learn to become more creative, and think outside the box and use writing as creative expression...This community is a wonderful inspiration for me and hopefully I will progress.
I want to thank those that take the time to stop by and hopefully I can become acquainted with others that I can relate to, learn from, appreciate and be appreciated by.
Just a few expectations:
1. Please don't send me more than 1 or 2 read requests in a week. In fact please only send a read request if you really want a particular poem reviewed, not every single poem on your profile.
2. I like to spend time browsing through my friends poems and giving a fair share of reviews regularly, especially to those that review my work regularly, it is only fair. I also really enjoying just finding and reading poems that interest me so I can give a quality review, and not comment on every single thing I read just to say I reviewed it. So if I have something to say about a poem I read, then I will say it, otherwise I may not leave a comment.
3. Please don't send me chapters to books, or long stories or even extensively long poems as read requests. I don't want to be rude and say I am not interested in your work, because most likely if I have made several reviews on your writing then I am interested, but I won't be reading them.
4. As for reasons behind my decision not to read long pieces or read too many read requests... I get migraine headaches on a regular basis and computer is the number one thing to aggravate it, I can not read long pieces of writing, stories, books, articles online because it is extremely bothersome to my eyes and head. I also spend a limited amount of time on the computer because of this as well, so I like to use that time wisely by adding my own writing, reading what interests me, and reviewing regularly to my friends that I enjoy reading and who have enjoyed reading my own writing. Plus I like to read my novels on my kindle as well, so I leave time for that too.
Thanks for understanding
A little more insight to the world of Denise:
I am 25 years old with a degree in Health Information and I worked two years as a medical coder. (aka boring and doesn't fit my lifestyle)
I am a creative, free spirited person and I love reading, writing, painting, and philosophical ideals. I am a dreamer and not always a realist. I can be introverted at times, but love the company of the people I love most. I'm a bit of tree-hugging hippie and feel completely at ease when out in nature. I love and respect mother earth and all her creatures.
I have loved and I have lost. I can be over emotional at times, and sensitive. When I love something, I do it completely and give my whole heart (and in one case given my heart away to watch it shatter and break in the hands of someone else). I am a good listener and an have abundant amount of empathy for others.
I love life to the fullest, but I also possess a dark, sad and lonely side that usually seeps through in my writing (what can I say that is my outlet).
