Jann Dainver “Deejay” Maravilla is a native of Clarin, Misamis Occidental. Born and raised in a family of devout Catholic musicians, he has taken quite a different route from the rest, the writing street. He started his formal writing engagements since his basic education years and it spiraled up to his college years. He finished Bachelor of Arts in English as a Cum Laude at Mindanao State University- Iligan Institute of Technology. He is now a candidate for the degree of Master of Arts in English at Jose Rizal Memorial State University-Main Campus, Daptian City where he also works as a College Instructor. He writes fiction, plays and poems in Sebuano, English and Filipino. Some of his Sebuano poems are being published online. His has already staged 3 major theater productions; two of which are original plays. Aside from being a creative writer, he has also invested a significant volume of interest in research and instructional materials development. His study on the Sebuano-English contact phenomena has been accepted several times at various international fora and conferences and was published in an international journal. At present, he is working on writing learning modules in English and Literature courses.
