Model Novel

Model Novel

A Lesson by Queen_of_Winter
"

While you are writing a Novel, it is best to have a Novel that you think would be the best Novel would be a good Model for you.

"

While you are writing you will hit a lot of snaggs, and bumps in the road. It is Ideal to have a Model Novel that will be there for you to thumb through, and gather ideas from... if any, but taking an Idea you really have to change it up a lot to make it original. That isn't to hard to do, really.

Ex. Donia grabs a staff and falls to the ground as her blood feels like ice shards flowing through her vein. She knows she is not the one. (© - Copyright to Melissa Marr.)

Example of using the idea but changing it up.)

Lifanie has been in a slumber for half a century, her body wasn't fully through the change her memory would remain if awoken to early. That is what Biren was doing, but it had to be done, the Light court would die if he didn't take the quest to awaken the Light Queen. After all, they had been without their highers for what seemed like an Eternity. Biren's father was the one that had awoken the Light into the former dark Faerie. (© - Makayla Hardy)

See, now was that so hard? Below are some questions.

What characters are important, who is the Protagonist, and the Antagonist?

Give a Summary in two sentences. What was it about?

What is the Main Conflict. Are there any Sub-Conflicts?

What perspective, which character?

What point of view? (1st, 2nd, or 3rd person?)

What is the beginning, how does it begin.?

Setting?

What is the Authors writing style?

What do you enjoy most about the Novel?

Now that you have answered all the questions, write something about the book that will get someone else interested.

Ex.) Aislinn, one of the four main characters of Wicked Lovely by Malissa Marr, has a gift. She lost her mother at birth, and her father was never around, so she has no memory of the man that contributed to making her. Her grandmother had taken her in at birth, and cared for her. Soon, she realized she could see what others couldn't. So, her grandmother, whom can see them to, made her live by three rules all her life. 3. Don't Stare at them... 2. Don't speak to them... 1. Do not draw their attention. Keenan; The Summer King has his attention on Aislinn already, but why? What is it about her that has him constantly looking at her, wanting to get to know her?  Is she special?

What is in a novel that you like? What makes them good?
