Lesson One: Plotting your storyline in five simple steps!

"

First, you need to plot in order write a book. The story comes out much better than just winging it the whole time. And I would know, since I've written a book and am in the process of writing another one.

STEP ONE:

think about what genre you want the story to be. ex) fiction, adventure, romance, etc.

STEP TWO:

Think of characters. I like to start with names, what their roles will be, and how important they'll be to the story.

STEP THREE:

Come up with events you'd like to put in your book. So basically, just brainstorm for a bit. THe events don't have to include any specific character, just some things that you want to happen in the story. Also think about a good beginning and ending.

STEP FOUR:

Incorporate the characters from Step Two into the events from Step Three.

STEP FIVE:

Create a layout plan for the story using the events you came up with in Step Three and Four. Also think about how you want the layout of the book to be, as in how long the chapters will be, cliffhangers, etc.

I love to sing and baking, but singing the most. Writing is more of a hobby for me. I've written a novel called 'Silver' and I'm in the process of writing the sequel, which is called Prophetess. I hop..
