When Writing Drama, one should adhere to these 5 simple tips and you will be doing quite swimmingly in the world of dramatic writing. 1.) Analyze dialog in real life and how people speak and react in different situations. 2.) Study stage techniques and be very familiar with the stage. Perhaps act in a few productions yourself, take a drama class, or even just be in tech. Either way, learn the intricacies of the stage so you can enhance your production with proper stage directions inside your script. 3.) RESEARCH. Make sure to do proper research on any topic you wish to concentrate your work of drama on. For there is nothing sweeter than something accurate and entertaining. 4.) Add humor! Just because you are writing a drama doesn't mean that everything has to be super serious. Look at Shakespeare, all of his dramas had me rolling on the floor laughing at some points. 5.) Remember, each character will have a different style, but with the same dialect usually. So it maybe a challenge to make each character sound different, if they are not drastically so.
