Poetry Option 1A Lesson by Jodi EatonWrite a poem that begins with a rhetorical question.Option 1: Why is the sky blue?
Why is the sky blue? it isn't yellow, green with purple stripes, not red or orange, not pink. It isn't even a shade of white. It's blue. Sometimes dark and sometimes light, but always blue, why? It's blue to contrast the green of grass, to give background to clouds, and to support the sun. It's blue for the airplanes and hot-air balloons. The blue supplies a home for the birds, the butterflies and bees. It creates a backdrop for the giant mountains, a home for rainbows, and a place for the breath-taking sunsets to be created. The sky is what children reach for, where they place their dreams. The sky is blue because that's what gets through during the defraction of sunlight.
