About MeWriting is a passion I discovered while in high school and is something I have done ever since. I have written for magazines, newspapers, radio and television commercials (I even once wrote an infomercial script for a real estate development) and more.
Through two college degrees and a marketing career, I have continued to write everything from newsletter articles, poetry and novels, to technical manuals and web content. One saying a lot of people say is "a picture can say a thousand words." My response is "that's great, but good writing can paint a thousand pictures." To each his own I guess. I like pictures too. I am is a lifelong resident of Auburn, Indiana. I earned a BA in Corporate English and Communication from Tri-State University in 1999 and an MA in Professional Communication from Purdue University in 2005. In addition to writing, I am a marketing professional. I have been employed as a financial services marketer since 1999. My specific responsibilities have included on-line channel development and product management. That means I have done a lot of target profiling, direct mail, newsletters and much, much more. But writing remains my passion. I continue to make my home in Indiana with my wife, Jenny, and daughter, Daphne. A lot of the poetry I have written has been inspired by the city I grew up in and still live, Auburn. It truly is a city with a unique character and maybe you don't really understand the draw to it unless you grew up there, but I imagine most everyone will say that about the town they grew up in, provided there were good experiences to accompany it. |
