About Me

Having embraced poetry as well as other forms of writing I have found my outlet which allows me to find my much needed tranquility... I would be lost without pen and paper..... Possibly just another statistic... But thankfully I have rose from the ashes of the past and am moving steadfast towards serenity.

I used to believe in forever . . . but forever was too good to be true.

Thanks for explaining yourself, haha... No really, what you wrote was nice, I just didn't expect to get serious reactions. But it's cool.

The piece was inspired by last wednesday night. I was filming the news and one of the anchors did a story about how the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile had come into town. Not only did it come into town, but it was parked in the parking lot at the SAME grocery store that is just a moments walk from my house! And it was there a few hours! What's funny about this is that it really was my childhood dream, and throughout my life I was told I would probably never get to see the mobile, because it travels throughout all the country, and what are the chances that we would happen to be at the same place at the same time? During the commercial break (after doing that story) I was hysterical. Of course I knew it wasn't the end of the world, but I really was bummed out about not getting to see the mobile. And that was evident to my coworkers, who were laughing at me perpetually. Now whenever I go into work at the tv station, the directors tease me saying things like: " I'm not so sure if I KNOW what my destiny is, Emily! I haven't seem the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile yet!" It's hilarious.

Thanks for your nice review on my piece; " Childlike Faith. " Glad you liked it.

I must confess though I am surprised how many people are taking it so seriously, because in the beginning, it was intended as a joke! But maybe you missed the last paragraph?? If so, you should go read the last paragraph. The surprise ending, if you will.

My intention was to convince people into serious emotions and then surprise them in the end with unexpected laughter. It was my way of making a serious piece and a lighthearted piece at the same time. But every word in the piece is true... I really do (and always have since I was little) wanted to see the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile...
