B.E. Gonzales

I am 13 years old from the Philippines. I write short stories, essays, plays, and songs. I specialize in poetry, both in English and Tagalog, my native tongue. I usually write about love, life, Death, God, and my country, the Philippines. I admire the works of NVM Gonzales and Nick Joaquin. My top 3 favorite poems are "The Tyger" by William Blake, "Sonnet 116" by William Shakespeare, and "Mi Ultimo Adios (My Last Farewell) by the Philippine national hero, Jose Rizal. It is my dream to become the best Filipino poet in the English language. Recently, I've been joining speech and literary contests at our school. A few months ago, I won gold for our class in the Literary Week Extemporaneous Speech Contest. I am a member of our school's journalism club.
