About Me

I'm a college student majoring in English/Creative Writing at the moment, so my interest in writing is running pretty high. I like both poetry and prose, and I'm extremely anal about grammar. One of those things.

I love to write, draw, paint, and sing, though with all of those I tend to be a bit sporadic. I love, love, love reading--anything and everything, as long as it's open-minded and creative.

I write for myself, not for others, but I hope someday I can get published.

I love music of any kind except country (yes, I include Taylor Swift in that genre). Actually, I have a weird sort of obsession with music. My favorite bands and artists are at the moment The White Stripes, The Rolling Stones, Tracy Chapman, Norah Jones, Juanes, The Raconteurs, Queens of the Stone Age, Phantom Planet, Rusted Root, The Gipsy Kings, Carlos Santana, and Jack Johnson.

I'd list my favorite books, but you'd die of old age trying to finish reading the list.

I'm pretty friendly, and I'm always open to chat!

"TO A BUTTERFLY"

I've watched you now a full half-hour,
Self-poised upon that yellow flower;
And, little Butterfly! indeed
I know not if you sleep or feed.
How motionless! and then
What joy awaits you, when the breeze
Hath found you out among the trees,
And calls you forth again!
This plot of Orchard-ground is ours;
My trees they are, my Sister's flowers;
Here rest your wings when they are weary;
Here lodge as in a sanctuary!
Come often to us, fear no wrong;
Sit near us on the bough!
We'll talk of sunshine and of song;
And summer days, when we were young;
Sweet childish days, that were as long
As twenty days are now.

By William Wordsworth
