I mainly write speculative fiction, but I've dabbled in poetry, playwriting, screenwriting, creative nonfiction, anything with words on a page and I'm there. Recently, I've gotten into flash fiction and write a story of about 1,000 words once a day in addition to the short story/play/novel(la) I'm working on at the time.

I'm a firm believer in learning from experience. You can't teach writing. You can't be a writer if you're not willing to sit down at the keyboard (or typewriter or notepad, whatever you prefer) every day and work at it. I also know that as lonely as the act of writing might seem, it really isn't. To really grow, a writer needs a community of fellows to provide volumes of criticism, tearing down one story so the next can stand taller still. I want honest opinions on all of my work--whether or not that's the response I was hoping for.
