My name is Tameka Neshay. I am 23yrs old and a college graduate. I have my first degree and I am working on my second degree(B.A) I am a poet. I have been writing since i was the tender age of 9yrs old. I write all types of poetry. I am a soon to be mother so i will be writing more poems for children. I am working on screen plays and short stories as well. I hope to one day become well known poet.. I have performed at the Nuyorican Poetry Cafe on the eastside of mahattan. The majority of my poems are not about myself but I often write them in first person perspective. I like to think myself as a poet that is the voice for my generation. the conversations I have with people and by listening to their life stories I add to my poetry. I speak for those who dont write poetry. I like to make my poetry clear and straight forward. I also have a habit of writing froma stream of conscious. For the most part there is a variety of poetry that I have written on many topics that affect people in my age group as well as teenagers. I am working on publishing my own collection of poetry and eventually 1 short story a year depending on a publishing contract.
