About Me
I am almost 50 years old and have lived the majority of those years in New York City. I was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York and moved to Queens, New York about 14 years ago. I currently work as a superintendent (manager) with the MTA in New York; where I've been employed for 20 years. I enjoy reading, writing, drawing, painting, nature, animals, herpetology, paleontology, archeology, anthropology, history, alternate history, military history, boxing, baseball, horseback riding, exploring, video and computer games, discovery.
Along with all of the stuff I do listed above, I am also a counter-terrorism instructor/speaker/consultant. I created the "Eyes & Ears" civilian counter-terrorism training program currently in use by the MTA in New York City, as well as by most of the major public transportation systems in the U.S. I am working on a non-fiction book about terrorism and am teaching a course in Emergency & Crisis Management for a local university.
The majority of the stuff I write are sci-fi, fantasy, and horror short stories. Most of the articles I've written concern terrorism. Chickenhawk is my first, and hopefully not last, novel. It is a crime novel about a serial killer, Manhattan North Homicide cops, New York City, sex, murder, illness, madness, racism, sexism, religion, politics and vengeance. I try to imbue all of my fiction writing with gritty realism, so that even my fantasy and sci-fi stories may be a little tough to take at times. I hope this doesn't turn off too many of my readers...
