About MeI write plays and novels. I've had several plays produced in California. The Amazing Brenda Strider was a Backstage West Critic's Pick and won several awards. My play Mimosa is published by Playscripts Inc. My most recent play, Dupe, was a finalist in both the 2007 Ashland New Plays Festival and The Boston Theatre Unbound 2007 competition. I'm hoping to have a run of Dupe in the early summer. My novel The Perfume Factory was published in 2005 and received many excellent reviews. Most of my energies are going into finishing the sequel, which is called The Dark Ride of Asbury Park (subject to change). A couple of chapters of Dark Ride will be published in the winter issue of CalArts literary magazine, Black Clock.
I've been writing for a number of years. I think I'm getting better, which may mean just getting more objective about what I write. It's never anything but a struggle, of course. I live in Los Angeles, teach. Read a lot, classics and contemporary. |
