Hi! My name is Zoie and I am 16.
I am an avid poetry reader, and I plan to become a Child Psychologist. My own mental illness has sparked my curiosity about psychology, and I want to make the lives of traumatized children so much better. I want to give young children the chance I never had. I also want to be taken seriously as a poet, I have studied this a lot and I really enjoy it.
I am diagnosed with depression and anxiety, and I have an embarrassing separation anxiety for my mom, but I can’t control it, and I get stressed when she is gone for long periods of time.
I believe that poetry is significantly impacted by psychology, and I try to reflect that in my poetry.
My biggest influences are Edgar Allan Poe (of course), Emily Dickinson (so cliché), Ralph Waldo Emerson, Walt Whitman, Sylvia Plath, and most Romantic era poets.
