About Me
My name is Adam Zayas I'm a 20 year old living in middle TN. I've been screenwriting for a little over 2 years now and in that time I've completed 1 full feature length screenplay and 4 shorts. I'm currently half way through my 5th short and have already completed the 1st ACT of my second feature length screenplay. I've also started a pilot episode for a TV drama series. With each new screenplay I write I always attempt new writing styles and different ways to tell stories. For example, my 1st feature length was almost entirely situational driven while my 2nd is almost entirely character driven. I enjoy challenging myself in all aspects of my writing. The stricter the guidelines the more enjoyment I get out of it when its complete. One thing that I've started to notice is that once you complete an intense complex screenplay you have to bring everything back to the bare basics for your next screenplay. Its difficult to start over when you've been working on molding a story that's already been conceived in your head for the past 8 to 10 months. With that being said every screenplay is just as difficult as the last and that's the way I think it should be. If it wasn't why keep writing? I take great pride in everything I write (unless I'm aware its total s**t). Many people ask me why I write and aside from the love of film it's mainly to inspire anyone in any way. If I can inspire just 1 person to go out and reach their own goals I've done my job right. I've never experienced envy towards any writer because regardless of what someone else writes they can't write like me they can't think like me and most important they can't create stories like me. I look to other writers as a source of inspiration or like a stepping stone to something greater or... something better. The point is to not only top yourself but try to top every writer whose ever inspired you, and when and if someone reads my work I would only hope that they would be determined enough to top my work and I would be more than happy to see that happen. We as screenwriters have a responsibility to continue to top each other over and over again we have to expand the idea of what people thought could happen on a screen. When I was little I didn't have many friends so I turned to movies. I would rent 3 to 5 movies every Thursday (both new and old) for the next 5 years or so and in that time of watching many well known classics and some not so well known I've gained an understanding of what a good movie should be and what elements it takes to make a great movie. There's nothing I enjoy more than entertaining someone. I don't know why but I always find myself recommending movies to my friends on a nearly constant basis. I have yet to meet someone who enjoys movies as much as I do, someone who enjoys multiple aspects of a scene or even just a single moment in a scene. All in all I consider myself unique in the aspect of screenwriting and am more than willing to put that confidence to the test.
