I live on a farm in Somerset. It's my parents' farm, they just let me live and write here. Very good of them. I mean, it does involve cleaning out cowshit every now and then, but I tend to think of it as research.

I try and write pieces that are hard to categorise. It doesn't make it easy to find obvious publishers, but it does make for fun watching the faces of people who are trying to tell me what my writing's like. "your... story? poem? thing?". Well, I try.

I have degrees! I did a BA English and Related Arts at what is now the University of Chichester, and an MA in Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths. I passed both with spectacular flying colours, which just goes to show certificates mean very little when it comes to actually getting stuff done.

I guess there's probably going to be a lot of space for things like this later in the form-filling procedure, so I'll leave that there.
