This is my first post in Writers Cafe. My first step on the journey.

WORDS

It’s never ok
The words we say
In any which way
In the games we play

Cos words, peppered with poison
Pierce like a dagger
Their strategic intent
Implodes, I stagger
Towards self sabotage
My internal abyss
I Cower from
That menacing hiss
Of one woman
Impresario of quips
The relentless assault
From vinegar lips

That grin, that voice
Perniciously pervades
My private self
Her words invades

It’s never ok
The words we say
In any which way
In the games we play

Despair of disconnection
With no overt expression
Leads to angst
Self doubt, depression
The destructive energy
in what is spoken
Can curse our bones
Till our spirit broken

So It’s never ok
The words we say
In any which way
In the games we play
