About MeMy first name is Julian. I'm a white male, straight, English and 51 years old. My email address is [email protected]. Writing is just an interest to me. My favourite writers include H. P. Lovecraft, Isaac Asimov, Clark Ashton Smith, Stephen King, Adam Nevill, Peter Straub, Philip K. Dick, Jules Verne, Edgar Allan Poe, August Derleth, Guy de Maupassant, Tanith Lee, J. R. R. Tolkien, and M. R. James. But, what about my own writing? Well, my favourite themes are fantasy, weird fiction, horror, philosophy and politics.
Some of my poems have been published by United Press Ltd, following some success in a number of their contests. My home is in the pleasant Derbyshire town of Belper. I sometimes visit the Southbank Centre and British Film Institute in London. I also quite like art. My London art gallery of choice has usually been The Hayward. Furthermore, I have a strong appreciation of our countryside. I oppose all forms of "assisted suicide" and euthanasia. So far, my favourite exhibitions at The Hayward have included "About Face", "Universal Experience", "Dan Flavin: A Retrospective" and "Annette Messager: The Messengers". My favourite radio stations include BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 4 Extra, LBC and the BBC World Service. Also, TV news channels such as GB News. I'm a former Freedom Association (TFA) member.
