About Me
Hello all. People call me Daly (pronounced as "Dolly"). I am an aspiring writer/folklorist/visual artist. Unfortunately my drawing skills are immature, so I pretty much do collages and at times computer art (on Paint). I'm currently working on writing stories influenced/based on Puerto Rican folklore and bilingual (Spanish and English) Poetry. I'm also interested in writing fantasy and sci-fi. Honestly, I suck at writing fantasy, although my sci-fi flash fiction about werewolf aliens seems to appeal to my friends. So far most of my writing has been published in the school literary magazine "Temet Nosce" (Watkins Mill High -- Gaithersburg, MD) and a poem published (the poem "Dias de Lluvia, Noches del Verano") in the anthology "Immortal Verses".
In real life I'm a shy but friendly person who happens to love dancing in the rain and eating mangos in the bathtub. I am the boricua, proud of my Puerto Rican culture and heritage.
I am currently in college and majoring in foreign languages. I intend to attend a four year university in the future and majoring in Linguistics/Multicultural studies and Caribbean/Taino studies. One of my other future goals is to try voice acting for animation.
One of my current projects is an online magazine called Zinething (http://www.zinething.wordpress.com). Submissions are being accepted for the second issue. Go to the site for more information.
