I write. Short stories, flash fiction, novels, some poetry. I'm 37, married with 2 children and a cat. I had a short story put up on the Flash Fiction Offensive webzine,
Second. And I just released my first novel The Other Side. You can can find it on my website above. It is also on
Amazon.com. (: Yay! :)
Now, I am here to get real reviews. If the story stinks, tell me and tell me why. I can't improve if you don't point out mistakes I've missed. If it's great, wonderful, tell me why, what works, and (there are usually places in any great work) what doesn't. I will do my best to reciprocate, but if you don't want a real review, pointing out editing you may have missed, spelling you didn't catch, as well as what I liked about it, please let me know. It is not my intent to hurt you, I simply want to see you improve. As I would like you to show me how I might improve. Even a beginning writer can catch grammar and spelling that a pro might miss on even a second or third draft. (And I am not saying I am a pro.)
I mean it when I say, "Tear this to shreds, please. I think I'm too close to this to see all of my mistakes." My shortcomings include: grammar, spelling, passive voice, dialogue tags that really aren't, and starting too many sentences with He, She, [Insert name of character here]. I need to shift things up. So, if you can do that and not worry about hurting my feelings (you won't, even if you tell me you hated it,) please be welcome to read my postings. I may even post my novel. Let me know, and happy writing!
Oh, I should tell you the genres I like/write: Fantasy, Sci-fi (non technical), Alternate Reality, Horror, Suspense, Thriller, Adventure, some poetry (I'm not a very good poet though, and don't feel adequately qualified to review poetry except for telling you I like it.)
I'm doing NaNoWriMo again this year. Come to NaNoWriMo.org and check it out. Here's my word count, let's see if I make it:
