About Me

Hey guys! I'm Deanna, I'm sixteen; totally excited to have joined! Writing has been in my life since at the latest the 3rd grade and I love writing almost anything. Poetry, lyrics, short stories, novels...I'm up for anything! I'm also really big on other types of art. I love paint, draw, trying to get into sculpting. Exploring the world of art is just my overall passion and it's something that I have to always have be apart of my life. Music is also a big love of mine, I just wish I was able to actually write the song notes instead of trying to make the words match to my own humming. :)
And I'm stoked about having my first ever (but not last) novel published in just a few short months! It's called "Through His Veins" and I ultimately created this profile at the Writers Cafe for it. I hope everyone will check it out when it goes up on the shelves.

Mindful

Every day
I see or hear
something
that more or less

kills me
with delight,
that leaves me
like a needle

in the haystack
of light.
It was what I was born for -
to look, to listen,

to lose myself
inside this soft world -
to instruct myself
over and over

in joy,
and acclamation.
Nor am I talking
about the exceptional,

the fearful, the dreadful,
the very extravagant -
but of the ordinary,
the common, the very drab,

the daily presentations.
Oh, good scholar,
I say to myself,
how can you help

but grow wise
with such teachings
as these -
the untrimmable light

of the world,
the ocean's shine,
the prayers that are made
out of grass?
